Longtime NAHB Remodelers Member Paul Sullivan Inducted into National Remodeling Hall of Fame
WASHINGTON, March 4 - The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Remodelers inducted Paul Sullivan, CAPS, CGP, CGR, a remodeler from Newton, Mass., into the National Remodeling Hall of Fame for his contributions to the remodeling industry. Sullivan was recognized at the NAHB Remodelers All-Stars Celebration during the NAHB International Builders' Show (IBS) in Las Vegas.
"As a member of NAHB and NAHB Remodelers for over 25 years, Paul Sullivan has had a profound impact on the remodeling industry at the local, state and national levels," said the 2018 Chair of NAHB Remodelers, Joanne Theunissen, CGP, CGR. "Paul uses his own involvement and interest in the remodeling industry to inspire others to participate in NAHB. It is an honor to induct Paul into the National Remodeling Hall of Fame for his irreplaceable contributions to our industry."
Sullivan has been an NAHB member since 1992 and NAHB Remodelers member since 1993. At the Builders and Remodelers Association of Greater Boston, Sullivan served twice as the Remodelers Council chair and as the local president in 2001. In 2017, he served as the state president for the New Hampshire Home Builders Association. Sullivan was also the 2014 NAHB Remodelers chairman; 2017-2018 National Area 1 Chairman; is currently the vice-chair for NAHB's Leading Suppliers Council; and is a life director of NAHB.
In 2013, Sullivan joined the NAHB Green Building Standard's Consensus Committee. He championed the reasons for remodelers to have their own standard and helped to create what is now the remodeling specific section of the National Green Building Standard.
Sullivan was instrumental in adding a remodeled home, separate from The New American Home, at IBS each year to represent the interests of the nearly 50,000 NAHB members who remodel. In 2017, the first New American Remodel was produced in Orlando, Fla. The program is currently remodeling the fourth New American Home sponsored by the NAHB Leading Suppliers Council, which will debut in 2020 in Las Vegas.
