A Place of 'Security'

The Community Housing Network’s newest development, Laurel Green, celebrated its grand opening Tuesday morning.

James Cumpston seemed to be at the end of his road a year ago.

His struggles landed him in Twin Valley Behavioral Healthcare Hospital on the West Side, followed by seven weeks in Bridges to Success, which helps those who are returning from psychiatric hospitalization or other crises avoid homelessness and find housing.

Today, the 60-year-old has found a new lease as one of 40 residents of Laurel Green, the Community Housing Network’s new development on the North Side designed for people with mental-health conditions.
